Philpot, J.G. (1997). Bibliotherapy for classroom use. Nashville, TN: Incentive Publications.

Bibliotherapy for Classroom Use targets the ages of grades 4-8. It is a great text for generating activities for facilitating the emotional responses to books. The prose is easy to read, and it explains the basic tenants of bibliotherapy so the teacher or librarian will know the main goals. It begins with an activity to help the students introduce themselves and continues with other exercises to explore various titles suggested in the book. Perhaps the best part of the Bibliotherapy for Classroom Use is the index in the back divided into topics for use in the classroom.
