In my research, I will focus on the effect a bibliotherapeutic workshop will have on gifted teachers’ burnout.
This workshop will begin as an intensive weekend conference held at the library and evolve into a monthly meeting, with the same group. They will be surveyed about the insight this conference/workshop brings and the surrounding benefits of it. We will measure their engagement as well as their enthusiasm.
Why is this meaningful? There is a high rate of burnout in gifted teachers, and professional development has shown to reduce that. Teaching the tenants of bibliotherapy gives them a toolbox from which they can always draw.
